CANS - Complaints of Arms, Neck and Shoulders

Complaints of the arm, neck and shoulder (CANS) are a major health problem in the work force. Not only are these complaints a cause of severe long-term pain and physical disability, they also create a huge economic burden due to absenteeism and health-care costs.

Employee education is a key tool. Simple stretching and relaxation exercises can help prevent or improve symptoms and can be executed sitting on a chair. The Chair Yoga CANS program can be taught on site in groups.

Studies have verified that there are effects from both the work station, and from stress factors due to job demand. This offers a perfect opportunity for Management to introduce Chair Yoga as a preventative and supportive solution.
